Where Are You, Summer?

It’s been unspeakably cold in my area this past month or so, which is abnormal because we’ve experienced several mild winters here leading up to 2018. Usually the temperature doesn’t cool down enough to justify frost or beard icicles until mid-January, and even then we still see days that get up in the 50s and 60s.

This time of year does have its perks however. Cozy nights bundled up in the warmth of your own home, within the close circle of the person or person(s) you cherish and adore. There’s always hot cocoa and tongue scorching coffee to take the edge off as well.

As much as I’d like to wave sayonara to an area that becomes less outdoor friendly for 4-5 months out of the calendar year, I always get nostalgic about those festive moments that stand out like a calming snowfall on a whiteout, chilled winter’s day.
