Sometimes I see the world in a different hue, but it’s not because my mind wanders to a dark place. When you’ve seen the old classics like Metropolis, Citizen Kane, or The Killing, it’s tough to not imagine what today would be like if it time-traveled to some far off bygone generation. Not everything should be looked at with a nostalgic pair of eyes, because it’s just as important to look forward as it is to look back, but I can’t help to think what their world was like. The culture, the more refined mannerisms and social consciousness, and last but not least, the Oreo cookie projections of their own cinematic dreams.
