By Chance

We met

In the

Summer

Of 62′

When kids

Still played

Outside

And boys

Traded

Baseball cards.

Music

Was changing.

In our

Opinion

For the better,

But our

Parents disagreed

And thought

The

British Invasion

Might

As well have been

An actual

War.

You were

The

Sweet who

Took

Me high

Up

In the sky

Off my feet

And

Nothing’s changed

In the

47 years

Since.
