An idea came to me the other day and I didn’t know what to do with it. Where to put it. How to transcribe it. I threw down the ancient and irreplaceable glass vase that I was holding in the art museum, letting it shatter into a billion pieces all over the floor. Then I ran out of the building and knocked over the sidewalk hot dog vendor cart before bursting through rush hour midtown traffic, causing a twelve car pile up where all the drivers honked angrily and shoved many perturbed middle fingers out their windows at me. Finally, I made it home and wrote the idea down on a notepad. I was so utterly exhausted from the scampering and running and scurrying that I curled up on the warm couch and took a nice, long afternoon nap.
