Name a book you absolutely adore that you’ve never discussed with anyone personally or even glimpsed at a review before reading it.
For me, it was Colonel Sun.
This was the first James Bond novel published after the death of Ian Fleming and not only is it one of my favorite books in the series, but of all-time. Kingsley Amis only wrote the single continuation story, which is a criminal shame because it’s brilliant.
Fun fact: pieces of dialogue from the main villain were used for Christoph Waltz’s depiction of the character Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the most recent Bond film Spectre, which came out in 2015.
