Balancing Act

Reading and writing, when paired together is just as difficult as it sounds, but I think that both are necessary for the creative side and are just as well casually entertaining. My problem with reading is that I go way way way overboard every week. Last year, I read 120 books by the turn of 2019. The year before, 175. Not that reading is a bad thing, because most of us know that not to be the case. But I do find it distracting from the writing at times. For example, I’ll come home after a long day of work and rather than dive back into a manuscript, I’ll plop my feet up and embrace more of the previously written word. Does anyone else struggle with this sort of balance?
