“You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy books and that’s kind of the same thing.”
There hasn’t been much time for reading this week, which feels draining in and of itself. Television used to be my go-to method for plop on the couch relaxation, but over the last few years it’s become a full blown bookworm addiction. Coffee and a book, in the realm of literature paradise, would be comparable to the adopted Parisian way of coffee and a cigarette. It’s relaxing, it’s settling, it’s always an adventure.
What’s everyone currently reading? I’m diving back into the Alex Rider series, which has been a tumultuous journey for me thus far. I’ve heard nothing but the best about this boyhood British spy series and there’s really been only 1 book out of the 4 I’ve read that achieved great heights. The others, while fun and a great way to escape into a fast-paced story for a short while, weren’t quite what I hoped they’d be. Horowitz is a tremendous author and has written two of my favorite James Bond novels, but something about the Rider series hasn’t caught my full attention yet.
Searching for new reads?
Poetry about Strange Cars or maybe a fictional novel journal about a Dioramist protagonist who struggles with a passion for writing and a former love? Be sure to check out my published wares on Amazon if you’re interested.
