I’ve always been a huge fan of Steve Martin’s works, whether on-screen or on the printed page. Pure Drivel and Picasso at the Lapin Agile are two of my favorites, especially the former because I feel like he and I share a similar writing style/thought process.
Thus far, Shopgirl is both witty and whimsical, the tale of Mirabelle at one of LA’s stylish department stores.
She’s depressed, yet charismatic, and looking for a place to fit in without endlessly enduring the compounded mind chaos that raptures her almost every night.
Very curious to see where this goes, great story so far!
