The first time we spoke, she said no one had ever taken interest enough to coordinate a worthwhile date or rendezvous. It struck me as so strange because she had this dialed down beauty, one that was the strongest I’d ever felt and been hair-tingled by. You could tell it was lost on most men because of the chart toppling brains she faced the world with.
That night, we took to the streets.
Found a late night neon after hours dive and scarfed burgers, fries, and deliciously fried o-rings.
We swam in the look of curiosity in each other’s swirling pupils and traded music choices on the corner Wurlitzer.
