itty bits vol. 2 is hitting ebook shelves on Amazon this Thursday and I want to thank everyone so much for the ongoing indie author support. I’ve been getting some heartwarming feedback lately about itty bits vol. 1, as well as the two other books in my collection: The Dioramist and Strange Cars in the Night. It means the world to me and I am genuinely thrilled at the way our independent circle continues to revolve and grow.
About 10 years ago, I was feeling very uninspired by the writing. It was daunting, the traditional mindset I had going in felt forced and abnormal to me, and I couldn’t find any traction whatsoever.
When the idea for The Dioramist came around (on a beautiful Summer day while I was driving on the Garden State Parkway in Jersey), everything began to change.
I started writing what I wanted to, rather than what was creatively suggested by the hobby, whether it was conventional or not.
Rather than melding into the normal, everyday constructive writing process, I procured one that worked for me and brought a smile to my face.
When it comes to our trade, you should never feel like you’re forcing yourself.
I’m a huge fan of nanowrimo, but when it comes to writing, I feel like it’s something you can get lost in almost every single day and not have to label a timeframe as to when you should motivate yourself to get it done. It’s an amazing tool for those who haven’t crafted their own process yet, and even for those who are veterans and excel at the written game, but once you hit the ground running it turns into one of the most liberating feelings you’ll ever know.
End rant! I’m a little wordy this morning and just wanted to express my sincerest thanks to all of those who have shared their works with me and allowed me to reciprocate.
It really, really is a beautiful circle.
One might say that we’re teetering ourselves on the next full-scale renaissance.
Have a great day everyone!
