It’s been a pretty cold and damp pre-Winter season in New Jersey so far. Growing up I used to love the transition of Fall into a snow-covered wonderland, but I feel like the older I get, the less I enjoy it.
It’s not like we’re kids anymore and embrace a snow day by exploring the frigid, outdoor, rolling white sheet cake atmosphere (although I do miss those days of digging snow troughs and tunnels in the old neighborhood).
If I’m not stuck in traffic or driving in the wintry conditions, it’s nice to at least enjoy the visuality of it from the reverse side of the windowpanes, preferably with a cup of coffee and a deliciously good book.
Because who doesn’t enjoy a toasty indoor day with books and coffee? Or tea, if you’re so inclined? The coziness factor is elevated more so in these few months than in the Spring and Summer, because many of us like to take to the green and leafy outdoors with plenty of good vibes and vigor.
