It’s been a heck of a week for reading. I finally plowed through 84 Charing Cross Road (now one of my all-time favorites), after having put off reading it for years. It’s a true story, actually it’s a series of letters that go back and forth between a freelance writer in NYC and a bookstore owner in England. The correspondence went on for over 20 years, starting in the late 1940’s. It’s a magical little book filled with heart, wit, and bookish intellect and I recommend it to ANYONE who loves reading. It’s brilliant!
Started David Duchovny’s Miss Subways yesterday on the plane ride home from California and ‘Holy Cow’ is this one fantastic-o. I devoured Part I like it was a piece of New York Cheesecake and that’s just when the story begins to take a fascinating, unexpected turn. Really excited to begin Part II this morning.
Poems For Warriors by Jason Muckley is on deck. Jason is an awesome blogger who I met on here and have corresponded with over the last few months. I can’t wait to dive into this one, I took a sneak peek before I left on my business trip earlier this week and these poems look to be deep, insightful, and full of creativity. Congratulations Jason on your publications! You can check them out here. I’ve preordered a Kindle copy of his new one titled Seasons of Nature as well, which comes out in a few days. Excited! ☀️ 🍁 ❄️ 🌳
