After finishing Elmore’s 3:10 to Yuma over the weekend, The Moonshine War has plenty to live up to.

What an incredible collection of short stories that was!

I was in awe.

Still am.

Needless to say, I’m now sold on the Western genre!

This new orange is the new whisky read takes place during the times of Prohibition and picks up with a local Deputy Marshal telling the nearby moonshine distiller to cease all activity.

Maybe he did it out of kindness?

Before it came to that?

Hand-shackles and wrought iron prison bars?

Because the deputy and moonshine man are actually friends?

Who knows, can’t wait to find out.

For those of you who haven’t read a book by EL before, but are fans of the crime/thriller genre, he’s an absolute tour-de-force.

Reputably the best, even several years now after his passing, Elmore writes with a vivid sense of escapism that you can only find in the works of a few select authors.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! The weather was beautiful for most of it, but today it’s incredibly stormy with high wind gusts.  Spring is definitely beginning to rule the scene however, and I think many of us are extremely thankful for that.
